Sunday – Prayer During the Day
L Lord, we come to adore you.
R In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Adoration
L O Sacred Banquet,
R in which Christ is our food, his passion is recalled, grace fills our hearts, and we receive a pledge of the glory to come. (Alleluia).
L You have given us bread from heaven, (Alleluia).
R having in it the fruits of all goodness. (Alleluia).
L Lord Jesus Christ, you gave us the Eucharist as the memorial of your suffering, death, and resurrection. May our worship of this sacrament of your body and blood help us to experience the salvation you won for us and the peace of the kingdom where you live and reign forever and ever.
R Amen.
(The Alleluia is added during the whole of Eastertide and on the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ [Thursday or Sunday after Trinity Sunday].)
Reflection
A. St. Vincent Pallotti writes about God and his creation, “It was because he was moved by his infinite mercy towards us, that God undertook the Divine Work of creating all his creatures and conserving them in being. This same mercy moves him to redeem, sanctify and glorify for all eternity the people whom he has created. We must pray that we will always acknowledge and keep in mind the infinite love and mercy of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and thus be able to derive the greatest possible benefit from his love. This is the will of God for us, his most gracious and merciful plan.” (God, the Infinite Love, 6)
B. St. Vincent Pallotti writes about the Blessed Trinity and creation: “Illuminated by Faith, I believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; in the one God who is eternal, infinite, immeasurable, incomprehensible: one God in three Persons. My God, you are infinite goodness and as such you wish to give yourself infinitely to your creatures. Filled with eternal love and mercy, you designed the work of creation in order to spend yourself totally in your creatures. You have made all things for our use, providing everything we need for life. We wish to use as much of what you have provided for us as is necessary to attain our last and blessed end.” (cfr.: God, the Infinite Love, Med. I)

Prayer to the Holy Trinity
L Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
R We kneel before you, the all-holy, and thank you for all the graces you have bestowed on us.
L We praise and glorify you, heavenly Father.
R You created the world out of nothing by your loving, infinite power. You have endowed us with understanding and predestined us to become the image of your Son. Through him we recognize and love you as our Father. With him, we see you in eternal splendor.
L We praise and glorify you, only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
R You became one of us out of love for us. You redeemed us from sin and eternal punishment. You reconciled us with your heavenly Father.
L We praise and glorify you, Holy Spirit.
R In Baptism you gave us a share in your divine life and made us heirs to God’s kingdom. In confirmation you sealed us with your life and gave us a share in the work of your Church.
L Most Holy Trinity, infinite goodness and mercy, give us union with Christ, that one day all peoples and nations will join in the praise of your glory.
R Amen.
(Angelus or Regina Coeli) The Angelus
Introduction (optional)
L “This is how God loved the world: he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life” (John 3:16)
Adoring, we remember the mystery of the incarnation of the Word and we greet Mary, Mother of the Redeemer.
L The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary,
R and she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary.
L Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R Be it done unto me according to your word.
Hail Mary.
L And the Word was made flesh,
R and dwelt among us.
Hail Mary.
L Pray for us, holy Mother of God,
R that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
L Pour forth, we beseech you, O Lord, your grace into our hearts, that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ your Son was made known by the message of an Angel, may, by his Passion and Cross, be brought to the glory of his Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord.
R Amen.
During the Easter Season:
Regina Coeli
Introduction (optional):
L The angel said to the women: “There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would.” (Mt 28:5-6)
In the joy of the resurrection, let us address our prayer to Mary, Mother of the Redeemer.
L Queen of heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
R The Son whom you merited to bear, alleluia.
L has risen as he said, alleluia.
R Pray for us to God, alleluia.
L Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia,
R for the Lord is truly risen, alleluia.
L O God, you give joy to the world by the resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ. Through the prayers of his mother, the Virgin Mary, bring us to the happiness of eternal life. We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
R Amen.
L Glory be…
R As…
R Angel of God, whom God has appointed my guardian, enlighten, protect, direct and govern me this day.
Amen.
Prayer for the Dead
L For deceased members, relatives and benefactors.
Psalm 130 (129)
A prayer of repentance and trust
1. Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord, Lord, hear my voice! O let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleading.
2. If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt, Lord, who would survive? But with you is found forgiveness: for this we revere you.
1. My soul is waiting for the Lord. I count on his word. My soul is longing for the Lord more than those who watch for daybreak. (Let the watchers count on daybreak and Israel on the Lord).
2. Because with the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption. Israel indeed he will redeem from all its iniquity.
L Give them eternal rest, O Lord,
R and may your light shine on them.
L May they rest in peace.
R Amen.
Closing Petitions
L To the banquet of eternal glory,
R lead us, Christ, our risen Lord.
L Mary, Queen of Apostles,
R pray for us.
L Saint Vincent Pallotti,
R pray for us.
